Into the wild

As promise, I'm sharing more images of my recent trip to Vietnam. I've always enjoy tracking and the view that it has to offer. Spectacular, magnificent and breathless literally and physically. As you can see from our faces in the image below, bro joe and me. Dont be fool by the smiles. We actually trying very hard to be on our feet. Climbing up is physically tiring and going down is not easy on the knees and is very technical. We underestimate the mountains in Vietnam. It was worth it and we feel that we on cloud nine literally. Check out the view from our hotel,it super cool and also the picture of the town Sapa. Anyway it is a wonderful experience for sure we will be back for more... right Joe!

Ron Franz: I'm going to miss you when you go.
Christopher McCandless: I will miss you too, but you are wrong if you think that the joy of life comes principally from the joy of human relationships. God's place is all around us, it is in everything and in anything we can experience. People just need to change the way they look at things.
Ron Franz: Yeah. I am going to take stock of that. You know I am. I want to tell you something. From bits and pieces of what you have told me about your family, your mother and your dad... And I know you have problems with the church too... But there is some kind of bigger thing that we can all appreciate and it sounds to me you don't mind calling it God. But when you forgive, you love. And when you love, God's light shines through you.

First Blood!

... And so I survived my first Marathon. I must say it has been an excruciating experience. Never before have I felt so tired in my life to the extend that I suffered a severe leg cramps 10km to finish line. It was quite a humbling experience too, never ever take things for granted and that everything will take care of itself. Along the way I saw quite a number of runners that are better shape than me fall out of the race. Psychologically it did affect me in a way. The thought of giving up did cross my mind during the last 10km. Despite the fatigue and cramps I persevere, knowing some good friends will be cheering me on at the ending point.
While my body still recuperating from the excruciating experience, my mind was thinking of the next Marathon. Hopefully this time I will do better... By the way next time around those friends that cheering me by the sideline will be running too, not necessarily the full 42.195km though. It will be fun.

Live to Tell

"No matter how mundane some action might appear, keep at it long enough and it becomes a contemplative, even meditative act." Haruki Murukami wrote this in his book, What I talk about When I talk about running. So it is, I have started running for about a year now. I used to hate running but it change about a year ago when I decide to embark on this journey to better my health. I enjoy it so much that I am encouraging and sharing it with fellow good friends, I'll write more about this in another entry.
I have lost about 34kg (beat that biggest loser!) since and feel really good. Together with my good pal, bro Joe, we decided to take it a notch higher by enrolling ourselves for a marathon. We have been training and in between we (together with some very good friends) have taken part in some distance running events. The longest distance we covered so far is 21km and the minimum is 10km.
Tomorrow my fellow bloggers I am running the big-full Marathon. It has been a mix feeling for me, excited but at the same time terribly anxious. Hopefully everything goes all right. I will write about it on Monday, if I live to tell....wish me luck.

No Time!

How I wish that this arrangement of words are done by me but it wasn't. Truly only someone who understand the essence of time could come up with such lovely arrangement. Well for now I am content just to be able to realise it..

Leisure
WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

OLD School

Hello! (echo) Ok its been a while since I last upload an entry. I've been very busy with work and some other extra curriculum activity. I felt very old and somehow starts to be very forgetful. My memory is failing me the past few days. I've end up sms-ing the wrong friend twice in the period of two days. Thankfully the 'wrong' friend is very forgiving and able to laugh at my forgetfulness. Anyway two wrongs does make a right, this friend of mine end up to be the antidote to my forgetfulness.

This is her sms to me:

"No worries, getting old is no fun but at times we do funny things. Always good to make someone else laugh. Yeah, its about time you updated your blog. Full of dust and cobwebs already."

Thank You "Al"
