Sincerity & Purity of Intention
The heart must be clean and honest. Allah is Pure and He only accepts pure.
"Verily, deeds are rewarded by intention. And everyone will have the reward for that which he has intended.” _[A saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him - Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol. 1 #1]
Sincere intention is the key to the success or failure of the Muslim. All that he or she does must be for the sake of Allah and not for the chance to show off or call attention to himself or herself. If there is even a speck of pride or showing off for the people instead of doing for Allah, then the whole of the matter will be rejected by Allah on the Day of Judgment. This is due to the fact that Allah wants purity of intention and purity in deed.
Hence, that explained the title, need to Reflect and Rethink of one owns intention and purpose, so as not to go astray. Its not an advice it’s a reminder to oneself.

Dust in the wind

I close my eyes
Only for a moment, then the moment's gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song
Just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do
Crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind, ohh
Now, don't hang on
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
The wind

Stand By Me

Words they don't come easy to me
In need to find a way
To express my appreciation to Him
For everything that He have given to me
And for all that, He didn’t give me
Or yet to give
He knows me best
Better than I know myself
At times when I gave up on myself
He didn’t give up on me
O Your Merciful
I surrender myself to You
I have not shown enough
Of my gratitude to You
Forgive me…Forgive me…Forgive me
And All Praises are to You
I thank You, I thank You
I cant thank You enough...

The Hybrid Stop to Ponder

As I set off for the journey
The sweetness of the taste of love
That the hoopoe speaks
Serenade me
For I would fly alone
Across the land
Into the woods
And will rest to ponder
At the reasons
On the origin of myself
And all things
Like the woodpecker
I’m a craftsman
My labour or love
Is an abstraction of
The mundane beauty
Through out the journey
Trying to find the Way
And to get closer to Him
I’ll find Him in the strangest places
Places that I’ll never knew it could be
I get to knew and grew to love
His nature and His wonders
His mercy and His greatness
Best not alone in the mosque
But alone with the sun shining on me
Through the trees
Or when the rains drops on my wings
And washes all the dirt away from me.

Time After Time

And so it is
Just as everyone said it would be
Working full-time is never easy
After years of doing freelance
So I attempt to dive into this realm
It’s a new beginning
I realise time move so quickly
Its no longer a luxury
That I kind of miss it
I miss spending my own time…
Nevertheless, no regret
Cause I know it’s a only a matter of time
Before I get use to it
Otherwise…

On The Way Home

Death
Is it white
Or black
Maybe grey
He passed away
Survived by
A wife
Mourning for him
On separate journey
A son
Fresh from the womb
Unworldly by the event
The soul
Like any others
Shall have
A taste of death
As we travel to the burial ground
We passed by places
Of the past
Present
And yet to come
Houses
Police station
Playgrounds
Schools
Hospitals
Stadiums
Temples
Banks
Trade buildings
Restaurants
Factories
Military camps
Church
Mosques
And empty lands
All things are possible
You may meet
Life is
But the journey
With indefinite destiny

Under the Weather

Am down with flu for few days now. Was lying on the bed most of the time and feeling bored......A story that never fail to cheer me up and makes me smile when I'm down with sickness.....
A visit to the sick Rabia al-Basri by three other great gnostics of the time, Hassan al-Basri, Shaqiq al-Balkh and Malik ibn Dinar illustrates my point. In offering solace to her current state, each of the saintly man gave words of comfort to Saint Rabia, but was rebuked by her for being insincere.
Hassan al-Basri said: “None is sincere in his claim to love Allah unless he patiently endures the tests from his Lord”
Shaqiq al-Balkh said: “None is sincere in his claim to love Allah unless he gives thanks for the tests from his Lord”
Malik ibn Dinar said: “None is sincere in his claim to love Allah unless he delights in the tests from his Lord”
All of which is comfort enough for us. But, to show the level of sincerity of her love, Saint Rabia instead offered them the following: “None is sincere in his claim to love Allah unless he forgets the pain from the tests of Allah”. This can only be achieved through one’s state of union with the Beloved – and this is acquired through sincere and deep love for his Lord.

Haemorrhage

Dear Self
I need you to understand
Am writing this with so much agony
Because you are a part of me
For better or worse
I cant deny that fact
Now I need to let you know
Am writing you off
As my worst enemy
For you cause a lot of mischief
That distract me from the Way
You are shrew and manipulative
The mind with all its potential
Knowledge and intellectual master of reasoning
Is very much conscious of your being
But you manage to influence him
And convince the mind to forget
What is and what is not essential
Worst of all you sway the mind
Reasoning ability against me
To draw me away from my journey
You trick the mind into having discourse
With the heart causing them to collide
With each other hence doubt arise
You are so insensitive,
You need to learn from the heart
But then you are cunning
You manage to change the heart
Love into anger and hate
Happy into rage and envy
Joy into sorrow, Kindness into cruelty
How did you do that?
Why did you do that?
What are the benefits that you gain?
When will it stop or will it ever?
Self! I had enough
I shall restrain you
From doing all this thing to me
The heart and mind have to work harder
Keeping you in check
Until your self-ishness subside
I feel there is a hope for you and me
Insha-Allah
Sincerely yours,
Enemy

The Hybrid is at ease as he saw the sun rise once again.

I was freed years ago
But only find liberty, yesterday
I fly out of my cage into
The realm of uncertainty
Years back when I realize my freedom
I make a hundred resolutions
To embark on a journey, to look for You
As I thought, I have already lost You
I thought You are already gone
Flying in circle I could not travel further then
As the years in the cage has cause me to be myopic
I need of some kind of help from a friend
Looking for that someone who would direct me
To the sunrise, and prepare me for my flight
And above all, is to reason with me about the journey
Someone who after he’s left the lessons will still persist in me
That will give me courage to go beyond the shoreline
To cross the sea towards the sunrise
Someone whom that I can get along
Someone who like the Prophet a teacher and a friend to
Abu Bakar, Umar, Othman, and Ali
All praise be to God who show mercy to me and guide me.
In the hoopoe, finally I find my answer
He guide me to the way that are suppose to be.
So I can take on the journey sincerely
While listening to the enchanting sound of the wind that whispering
The sweetness of love that the hoopoe speaks
I am on cloud nine flying towards the sunrise
Its only just begun but the heat of the sun was apparent
And the brightness of the sun light are blinding
My eyes that is already weak
Nevertheless, the hoopoe has taught me that
The journey towards the sun
It is not only about the sight
It is also about the matter of the heart.

The Hybrid Excuse

I start this journey not knowing what I got myself into
The two reasons that prompted me to embark on this journey
A close friend and a curious mind
The close friend company was interrupted
But the curious mind persist somehow
Along the way the shadow of doubt
Likes those of Homa’s cast over me
Just like the Finch excuse
Can I a person blessed with visual flair
Fathom the lyrical words that are vital to this journey
One fine day a warm reception
From a wise teacher and fellow birds
The excuse of a caged Parrot, the answer by the Hoopoe
And a story about Khezr finding companion.
Inspired me to pursue on this journey even more.

Should I stay or should I go

There is a saying or is it a quote from Benjamin Franklin am not very sure but it goes something like this, “its better to know than to wonder”. It makes me ponder about my current situation in life. Should I dive into the realm of the unknown or should I play it safe this time. If I am to take the advice from the quote than I should move out from the comfort zone but in reality am never comfortable in the current field either. Why then I am still hanging on, cause is hoping that it would work out for me one day. There is of course a limit to this waiting period. Then again, what if the working out part is just a step away and I never know cause I quit one step too soon. Only God knows why, am not question Him but asking for His guidance. “In drops you lose yourselves, yet you must dive through the untold fathoms and remain alive.” (Farid Ud-din Attar- The Conference of the Birds) What matters most is how we deal with it all,..I think.

Self Doubt
Do I doubt myself?
Most of the time.
Never really doubt my own ability
Or my creativity,
But I do doubt my funtionality
in relation to the society.
Most of the time.
Never really doubt my own ability
Or my creativity,
But I do doubt my funtionality
in relation to the society.

Rhythm of the Falling Rain
Am in the moment to sing this mushy song....why not right!
Rhythm of the Falling Rain by the Cascades
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain,
Telling me just what a fool I've been.
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain,
And let me be alone again.
Now the only girl I've ever loved has gone away.
Looking for a brand new start!
But little does she know that when she left that day.
Along with her she took my heart.
Rain, please tell me, now does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care
I can't love another, when my heart's somewhere far away.
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain,
Telling me just what a fool I've been.
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain,
And let me be alone again.
Interlude
Rain, won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we know start to grow.
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain,
Telling me just what a fool I've been.
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain,
And let me be alone again.
Oh listen to the falling rain
Pitter patter pitter patter, Oh
Listen, listen to the falling rain
Pitter patter pitter patter, Oh
Listen, listen to the falling rain
Pitter patter pitter patter

Happy Today!!!
Happy Today!!!
Today, for whatever that annoying, irritating,
Disturbing and indescribable feeling of sorrow.
The word for the day is Joy, simply Joy.
Today
For we have the past and the yet to be.
So, what makes Today so special
From any other day?
For it is what we want it to be……
Today, for whatever that annoying, irritating,
Disturbing and indescribable feeling of sorrow.
The word for the day is Joy, simply Joy.
Today
For we have the past and the yet to be.
So, what makes Today so special
From any other day?
For it is what we want it to be……
